National
Gay and Lesbian Task Force
Creating Change Conference 2006
Kansas
City, MO
November 8-12, 2006
This year's Creating Change featured an all-day Community Center
pre-Conference Institute filled with an abundance of information on how
LGBT Centers can best service the community. This year's
Center
representatives, Muriel Jones and LaShana Lewis, rekindled connections
from 2 years ago and networked with leaders and foundations that
support the LGBT community. It continued with a diverse
series of
workshops; suites which focused on the youth, People of Color, and
Elder community; and powerful plenary speakers. The event
ended
with an empowering speech from the blunt yet
straightforward founder of SisterSong, Loretta Ross.
